Our studio is led by Robin Shafer who has in excess of 30 years experience in Landscape Design. Robin’s work is extensively documented across a number of landscape publications. Robin is supported by a team of 4 Landscape Architects and Designers, with a range of experience and expertise across all areas of landscape architecture, and a Project and Studio Manager.
Robin Shafer (Principal and Picture Drawer)
Robin Shafer is a well-known landscape designer and author, creating urban and rural gardens throughout New Zealand for over 30 years. Robin’s work was featured in the recently published book ‘Gardens by Top NZ Designers’ and on the cover of ‘Contemporary Gardens of New Zealand’. She was head judge for the Landscaping NZ 2006 and 2008 National Awards and judges for Ellerslie Flower Show.
Joe Yuhyung Cho BLA, Grad NZILA
Joe is a qualified landscape architect. He was employed by Shafer Design in 2007. He has excellent technical knowledge, computer skills and extensive experience with permit/consent production. Joe brings to Shafer Design a depth of experience having worked and managed teams on large scale infrastructure developments throughout Asia.
Jessie Hope BLA
Jessie joined Shafer Design in 2015 after graduating from UNITEC. Jessie brings a strong skill set in building consent, detail development along with 3D modelling and strong graphic design skills. Jessie has worked on numerous commercial and residential projects throughout Auckland.
Tracy Chalmers UKGD
Tracy is a Landscape Designer, with vast experience in residential projects. Tracy studied landscape design at Capel Manor, London graduating in 1999. With her broad plant knowledge she is engaged on numerous Shafer Design projects. Tracy’s friendly and open communication style means she is a favourite with many of our clients.
Ricky Tattersfield BLA (Hons)
Ricky joined the Shafer Design team in early 2018 after graduating from Lincoln University with an honour’s degree in Landscape Architecture. Ricky’s skill set includes experience with Vectorworks, specifically in 3D Modelling, accompanied by a strong, practical mindset and a keen interest in residential landscape architecture.
Clare is Shafer Design’s Studio and Project Manager, her role is to manage the day to day client and team liaison. Clare’s passion for creating positive client experiences and strong business process workflows stems from her previous experience as a Conference Manager.
