When and where does the Taranaki Garden Festival take place?
The Taranaki Garden Festival is a 10-day annual event that usually happens during the tail-end of October to the beginning of November. This year, the Taranaki Garden Festival will be held from October 30th to November 8th.
What’s great about this famed event is that it doesn’t simply focus on one garden; instead, it features multiple public and private gardens across New Zealand’s scenic Taranaki region. Here you can explore a wide variety of gardens, from sprawling rural gardens to space-conscious urban set-ups and everything in between.
Who organises this event?
The Taranaki Garden Festival is organised by the Taranaki Garden Trust, in cooperation with local garden owners, artists, and other creatives within the region. Formerly known as the Rhododendron Festival, the event was first established back in 1987 to showcase New Plymouth’s stunning rhododendron gardens and has since expanded into the diverse event we know today.
